The GTA V PC release date proof came to my attention on Cinemablend, which reported on the data being leaked in a Pastebin file via Reddit. What exactly was the GTA V Pc release date proof spotted in the Xbox 360 files? According to the code, there is a section detailing "PC configuration overrides" as well as a line of "pc" code that seems to indicate a GTA V PC release date is in the cards for fans. A PS4 version was also allegedly found in the game code under the platform name "Orbis," which fans remember was the codename given to the PS4 during development.



A GTA V PC release date should come as no surprise to anyone who's been following recent GTA V news. Just last month, an executive at Nvidia spilled the beans about a GTA V PC release during a conference call with investors. Chris Evenden was speaking about the near future of the PC gaming market and said the following:

There is no official claim that GTA V will be released for the PC. NVIDIA did accidentally "confirm" it, but they state that it was an accident, and it is an honest mistake considering that every other GTA except for Vice City Stories & Chinatown Wars (duh) has been on PC. And yes, there are many petitions for bringing GTA V to PC (with A LOT of signatures), but there are many reasons as to why it wouldn't. One being more piracy, obviously (stupid since it was pirated on consoles anyways...). The others being money, which I think it illogical (but they've been doing this since GTA III). There are many more. Personally, I believe it will be released for PC without a doubt. But Rockstar didn't release Red Dead Redemption and Midnight Club 3 for PC which is very disappointing. And GTA IV was a horrible port to PC, it was released after the console release of GTA IV and I would give Rockstar even more time to port GTA V so that we don't have to deal with a piece of **** start port like GTA IV, and Saints Row II, III, and IV (for example)... a lot of people assume that the console release is just a timed exclusive to get people to buy consoles, the game, and maybe even buy the game a 2nd time for PC when (if) it's released for a much better experience (graphics, mods, multiplayer/online, features, tweaks, scripts, etc.)... maybe even next generation consoles if those get released for GTA V to be on them... That being said it was released for console today (Sept 17th, 2013) just to let you know. I'd give Rockstar a lot of time to port GTA V to PC considering how disappointing GTA IV was as a port, and I'd love to start off playing a game that isn't a chore. All in all, I believe that it will be released for PC, I just hope that it's a good port... And by the way, Rockstar has NEVER stated that GTA V will not be for the PC... there is not much reason as to why they would not officially state that, so they either have a plan or are still thinking it over. And that whole Amazon thing is another reason as to why GTA V will be coming to PC, though it's not as a reliable source as Rockstar themselves. It is true that every game is made on PC, but that's not a good reason at all considering we got console exclusives... so... And from what I've seen, the footage you are able to see on the Rockstar Youtube page is a lot better than what is actually on consoles right now... granted it's always like that to just make it look better and to overhype things, but it is an very unrealistic difference; even if they were planning on releasing the game for next gen consoles. Not sure what I'm trying to make that mean, but I guess I'm just trying holding onto more strange hope, haha. Though what disappointed me is the fact that (not sure if this is true) I heard that Microsoft paid $75 million to stop GTA IV from being a PS3 exclusive (like, really... really upset with that), but there is no need to worry considering that GTA V is on the xBox 360 which is made by Microsoft :) so chances are that it will eventually be on PC. The difference between the console and PC releases for GTA are always far from each other, around 7-8 months (been like this since GTA III), so we've still got time to hope. I'd give them a year... GTA IV was for the PC was released around 7-8 months after the console release and the port was disappointing. And "pirate-proof" is just an unrealistic term... that won't work well, and it surely didn't work well for GTA IV & LCS... that's for sure.



The simple answer? Everything points to "yes"... it's just a matter of "when", and I'd hope it's not rushed so that we get a good port... if they don't have some plan already, which I'm sure they do... and I wouldn't bother asking console gamers this question, because the answer will most likely be "haha no, rokstur nos dat pc sux nd consol rulez" (no offense, but that's all I've gotten so far).



So... yes, GTA V is definitely going to be released for PC.

Rockstar never said they wont release on pc

If I'm not mistaken, every GTA game ever (apart from the handheld spin offs maybe, chinatown wars etc) has had a PC release, I don't see why that would change for GTA V.GTA was technically born on the PC.

I'd Suggest you should have some patience , I'm sure rockstar will confirm it soon. So don't worry..

Every GTA game was released for PC after minimum 6-7 months after the console release .. The pc version will follow the next gen console release of the GTA5 because the one released now is visually toned down.. You know , the current gen consoles (for suppose the PS3) system & video both memory are only 256mb.. So it is way inferior to the ability of the PC and the next gen consoles ... And The pc is considered the best gaming platform ... So for such a big franchise like Grand Theft Auto , there must be a pc version , right ? If they start moving on , then why now ?

But I'm quite sure you already know all of these things . My personal advice is you should be patient ...

Yes, Rockstar will release GTA V for PC (not official yet), but no one knows how long we will have to wait. Dark Soul's was first released for PS3 and Xbox 360, a year later Dark Soul's was launched for PC, people had to wait nearly a year for the PC version. Grand Theft Auto IV for PC was released month's later. If you have to wait till 2014, I will recommend you to buy Watch Dog.

I'd be happy to bet large amounts of money on there being a PC release. When it will happen is really up to Rockstar. At the end of the day it's their product and they're free to play whatever mind games they want to extract maximum return from consumers.



Rockstar, Sony and Microsoft all benefit from a delayed PC release. The longer a PC release is left, the more likely people will be to relent and buy the game for console (and possibly a console too) and then buy the game a second time for PC at a later date.



I wouldn't expect any kind of announcement about a PC release for at least 2 weeks from console launch. I would dearly love to see the game available for PC at some point this year, but I expect spring or early summer 2014 is more realistic.

It's the same as the previous GTA (GTA IV, GTA:SA) it will also come out on PC but not as same date as for console. and the reason why they do that is console programming is different as PC programming and they have to kinda convert the console version into PC version.

God I hope not. Just get a PS3 or Xbox 360 they are cheaper than a new xbox 1 or PS4 or PC by now and even if they did make GTA 5 for PC not a lot of computers would be able to handle it. When I first installed the game data on my PS3 it took up to 8 GB and even after that it still has bugs (like car spawning problems) it's just such a complex game. (Huge map lots of cars, content, features etc.) and they rushed it into production, plus I bet Rockstar games doesn't want people trying to mod GTA 5 like how they were modding GTA 4 on PC. Also they would have to create an entirely saprate server for online. There's just a bunch of reasons like the ones I listed. I would be very suprized if they did release it on PC.
