Ok i am looking to build a PC with good graphics cards but i dont know who many i need for my display because i have a

HD 1080P 3D JVC DLA X30 Projector and has a max relosution of 1920x1080

And i have a 96" Projector screen on my wall

So i was thinking is i7 3960X and 4 GTX580 3GB HYDRO Powerfull to run at 1920x1080 even though the screen size is 96" I am worried that 4 GTX 580 might not be powerfull enough to run on htat size screen and the high 1080P resolution.

Will i get good FPS on latest games with this screen size and resolution on these 4 GTX 580 3GB also i will make the i7 processor 4.6GHz

Many Thanks

The others warned you, and I'll warn you - it's overkill. Just remember us when you find out for yourself. :)

"I am worried that 4 GTX 580 might not be powerfull enough to run on htat size screen and the high 1080P resolution."

Screen size doesn't matter, it's still 1920x1080. And 96"? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just go with a multi monitor solution? Or multi projector?

You might aswell build TWO computers. One for 3d modeling: 2500k + Quadro Card. The other for gaming: 2500k + Single HD 7970 or GTX 580.

You are either kidding or, well, plain kidding. I haven't got anything to add to what £ib Ñèm€si§ ® already said, except that you're going to need a small nuclear plant to power everything, should you persevere in your madness :D

But seriously. The rig you want to assemble is going to need two 1200watt power supplies to run everything smoothly. And talking about smoothness: a set-up in quadruple SLI is bound to give you some serious headaches involving graphics drivers and scalability...

Also, the dimensions of a screen don't change anything about the resolution. 1920x1080 is the same on a 24 inch monitor as on a 96 inch screen, except that on the bigger screen the quality will be far less just because of the scale...

Do as Lib says: buy a 2500k and one GTX580 (or one ATI HD7970 -the latter runs circles around the GTX580) and you'll do more than fine. And you won't get a heart attack when the electricity bill arrives. ;)

That's the definition of overkill.

1 video card will do just fine, screen size has ABSOLUTELY no effect on the video card, it's the resolution (number of pixels) that effect the video card.

CPU is overkill too.

Lol jeez, you have to be kidding me. A single 580 GTX and Core i5 2500K will run pretty much anything maxed at 1920 x 1080

Running it on a projector is not going to increase the resolution beyond that either. The 3960X is a waste of money as is 4 x 580 GTX unless maybe you were running a ton of monitors, and even then the i5 2500K for $800 less will perform the same
