I have $1200 to spend on a desktop. The total of all this stuff came out to be $1111.90. I don't even really need this PC until the fall so should I wait until then to see if I can get a better price on this stuff? Is there anything I don't need or I do need that is not on here? This is just for the desktop. I don't need a new monitor, mouse or keyboard. I would like to save as much money as possible but still get a good gaming pc for the future.

Depending on the screen resolution you will play on, the GPU may not be enough for some games. Overall, it is a solid build that will play all games today on good settings.

Drop down to 4 GB of RAM. You don't need 8. Put an extra $100 into a high end video card such as a 6950 Radeon or Nvidia 560 GTX Ti. A 5770 is not a great choice for a upper end gaming rig

You really don't need a 775 watt PSU either. A good quality 650 watt one would be fine

it's a good system, but these are the changes i would make.

RAM. a 1600mhz ram, this will improve the overclocking ability of the board, you will be able to get a better clock speed on your CPU if you have 1600mhz RAM.

Hard drive, if you can afford it, an SSD for the operating system, or a 500GB HDD, and a 1.5TB drive, the larger drives take slightly longer to spin up, and if they fail you loose a lot of data.

i have found that having more then one drive has an improvement in load speeds, I have my games on one drive, operating system on another and programs and other files on another. Partitian your 2tb drive so everything isnt on one drive.

GPU, i'd get a much better GPU, if your going for a gameing machine, put most of your money into this rather then other places, you can always pick up a drive cheaper later as prices are dropping, you can also get ram later as prices will drop, 4GB ram should be enough.

Power Supply, i'd get a Corsair 750w

CPU fan, if your not going to overclock, you should be fine with the stock cooler that comes with the CPU, if your going to overclock then get that cooler.
