ok so im having alot of trouble getting fallout 3 goty to run, when I click Play on the launcher it goes to a full black screen then crashes so hard I need to stop the process through task manager. It should also be noted in running fallout version 1.7.

my specs are:
Windows 7 Professional N 64 bit OS

Intel Xeon E3-1275 Processor (3.40GHz)

EVGA GeForce 670 FTW video card (4gb video ram)

8 GB DDR3-2133MHz system RAM

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 Motherboard

I have tried the following:

-running on different graphic settings from low to ultra (fallout 3 suggested ultra for my hardware)

-running with and without DLC enabled

-running with admin rights

-running in compatibility mode for windows XP

-changing the fallout default text settings to edit following: changed "bUseThreadedAI=0" into bUseThreadedAI=1" and added iNumHWThreads=2 one line lower

-added d3d9.dll to fallout 3 folder

And thats about it, im running out of ideas so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone who answers this question.

properly....the minimum standards are merely standards that the activity will run in any respect. Fallout 3 is an relatively image extensive activity and in case you haven't any longer have been given a reliable photos card, cpu and ram there is no way you are able to run it easily. sorry

You need a program called "Games for Windows Live" It's needed for Fallout 3. I had the same problem, so i tried running the .exe but it said that it need "gfwl.dll" so I just guessed, and it worked! Enjoy the best game in the world!

Try re-installing it if you haven't already, and if you have it on Steam, I think you have the option to "verify the integrity" or something. It scans the game and makes sure you have all the proper files.

Also, if you have a cracked version, it will not run (obviously).
