I'm hoping that this isn't a pirated game. There are several free games/demos available on torrents so I'll assume this is legit.
Most likely this is either a compressed file or a CD/DVD Image.
If compressed (extension zip, rar): Use one of the many tools available such as WinZip and WinRAR.
If its an Image (.mds, .iso, .nrg, .bin/.cue): Download Daemon's tools (google it), Install it and mount the image onto your new 'virtual drive'.
Please note: If you've downloaded a pirated game, it is ILLEGAL and you could be prosecuted.

Ya, it depends what type of file it is. If there are a lot of different files like blahblah.r01 blahblah.r02 ect. you need to combine them with a program called winrar. Just pick any random file, right click on it, and extract it to the desktop. This will probably produce one of the two files below.
If its an iso or mds. and mdf. go download daemon tools. Isos and mds. files are cd images (all of the files from a cd zipped together into one big file) Daemon tools creates a fake cd drive on your computer. If you right click on the daemon tools icon in the bottom right you can click on mount and mount the virtual cd on the virtual cddrive. From there just open up my computer and run it like any normal cd. If its a file extention i didn't mention just google it and I'm sure you'll find your answer.
