I want to know if the processor( intel pentium D) is good enough to play games such as modern warfare 1 and 2, black ops, medal of honor, star trek online and legacy; world at war.

Oh yes, I am sure it is. My processor, the old Athlon X2 processor, is still powerful enough to run today's games, e.g Black Ops, in decent performance, and Pentium D - both being dual-core processors - is more or less similar. It might be a little outdated, and does not perform as good as the newer Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad, but as long as you don't aim to 'running the games with the highest resolution in the highest detail', then you're good to go. Just make sure to equip your system with other good peripherals, i.e good graphics card and enough RAM (at least 2 GB).
