Are all OUYA games free?

I was looking at the OUYA games console on the website, and I noticed they said it was on android, and all games would be free. Are all the games going to be free? If not, how do you pay for them? Also, how will this console connect to a TV, because the advert shows no cables.

The Ouya (pronounced OOH-yuh; stylized "OUYA") is an upcoming video game console that will be built upon open-source software technology running on the Android mobile operating system.



All games will be required to have some kind of free-to-play form. This could mean the game is completely free, has a free trial, or has purchasable upgrades, levels, or other in-game items.



The connection to the TV will be with HDMI.

All games are required to have at least SOME free content. Some will be free, others will be free to try, and others will be free to play but will have additional content you can pay for. You'll pay for them the same way you'd pay for an android app. Ouya will have it's own marketplace, and you'll make the purchase online.



As for the cables... adverts for electronics almost never show cables. Look at ads for PS3, XBOX 360, and Wii. You'll almost never see the cables pictured because they don't look good.



The Ouya will connect via HDMI or component/composite, just like any other game console.

Considering the OUYA doesn't even exist yet, it's hard to say for sure since there's really been nothing aside from a bunch of marketing for it.



They say the games all have a free mode, which most likely means it's like the Xbox Live Arcade -- all games have a free demo, but then it's pay to play the whole game. It's supposed to have an HDMI connector for plugging it into a TV. They all show no cables, but it's supposed to have a power port, an HDMI port, a network port and a USB port.
