portal 2 keeps crashing on steam (mac)?

Question

so when i open up steam everythings fine but when i click on portal 2 it starts up shows menu and what not but when i hit single player it loads until its almost done then crashes with an osx error. ive researched and ive cleared my cache and reinstalled steam and all but it still crashes, someone please help me. i have mountain lion.

Anyway you're not alone. It seems something has gone wrong in a Steam update and lots of Portal 2 Mac users are no longer able to play the game.



I've reported this to Steam, still waiting for a response.

i had the exact same problem a few weeks ago and it was to do with the steam beta participation, go into steam preferences and make sure your not signed up for any beta's, i have the same problem now however and i cant find what the problem is.

Yeah...trying to run it on a base mac laptop is like trying to drive a potato...
