So basically im a big fan of real time strategy games such as command and conquer when i have time.... but for years i havent been able to play these sorts of games (Empire Total War, Command and Conquer etc) because it will either just work really slow IE the it will just be really laggy or it will work fine but every minute or so it will just freeze for about 2-3 minutes then come back as normal.

It is strange as i play football manager which uses a lot of memory perfectly fine.... i cant find whats wrong ive tried creating more memory/defragging everything but still to no avail.

This is a classical situation where by Windows 64-bit should always be your choice of operating system. The reason is the direct X in 64-bit is the latest version 11 plus where the 32-bit cannot obtain the proper direct X To run your games on also an extra 1-Gb would help out as well. You must now realise the Windows 7 64-bit. Most of the games made sold today and over the last 12 to 18 months are all made to work. We windows7 64-bit mail, I suggest to try where you click on the task-bar at the bottom left you will see a slot that say's search for programs will follow type the following in that space "scandsk" then restart your computer. It will take longer to restart the normal and you will see several numbers, etc. go across the screen. Just leave it alone, it will restart itself after it's tested cleaned your hard disk. This may help clear up a little bit of left over programs and should improve slightly your computer. But really do need what I have stated above. Good look
