Black screen or black and boxes when i try to run a game on my pc.?

Question

When I run games on my PC (newer games) i get black screen & no video, or black & boxes. I get soundeach time but cant see anything. Anyone know whats goin on? I have a feeling it might be my direct X or something but not sure what to do. Thanks

Sounds like your settings are set too high and yes it could be your video card. Just because you can play older games doesn't mean it's good/fast enough for the newer ones. Another thing it could be is an unsupported resolution. Honestly it could be a lot, post your specs and that will help. What kind of processor and graphics card are you using (chipset is important, not model) ?

Probably bad Graphics card..if you card is good then you need to install newest driver for it

prototype is the game which requires the latest directx

so update it

also if u have nvidia card...install the physix software

and ageia physx too
