I don't want to spend loads of money on a HD PVR. So I was wondering if there is anyway to connect your TV to your PC screen. I would then use a screen recorded such as Fraps or Hypercam to record what is on the pc screen.

Not in the way you are expecting no. Even if your PC screen had a TV compatible input connection that would not allow you to record the signal, it has to go through the PC first. For that you will need a TV capture card of some kind, there are plenty available including USB ones and all come with software to act as PVR's.

The most common way is to use a DVB S2 TV receiver.DVB-S2/S USB TV tuner is an ideal product which could be connected to computer, and then you and enjoy kinds of HD satellite TV programs by connecting to a satellite dish. These kind of devices are available with a variety of computers which have USB port. No matter whether you have a desktop or laptop, or whether you are running windows or Linux, you can find very good USB DVB-S2/S tuners to configured with, and receive amazing satellite channels.
