I have a problem now any one that is a big cod fan knows that there still using the cod 4 engines now i can play mw2 at max settings and highest resolution with my rig and my problem is i get a lag spike with black ops which i get a 60fps but it constantly jumps down to like 8-20 fps and i have it on the lowest setting and makes it much harder to play.the mpas originally took like 2 minutes to load when i had w7 x86 installed. I installed 64 bit and now the maps are loading up no problem but still got the lagging problem any sugtgestions.
I have seen a post about putting anti-alias to 2x and it didnt do any differance. even tried disabling v-sync and that didnt help either any suggestions to get me running this properly.
my hardware:
MSI K9AGM2-FIH AM2 Socket Mother Board
AMD Athlon 64X2 5000+(2.6ghz Rated at 5GHZ)
MSI N450GTS(Geforce 450gts chipset)
160GB WD1600BB PATA HDD
Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
Need any more info just ask
dont say the cpu isnt good enough cause alot of my friends are not having this problem and they are using a dual core and can get max settings

Are you running in full-screen mode? Or windowed mode? Are you using out-of-date add-ons?

How many processes are running when you are in the game? Like if you're running a virus scan, or downloading updates or something, maybe that's the source of the lag. Also, could it be server-side? I've read that most of it seems to be server side, because a lot of people have this issue. Something about the developers needing to patch or something. Heck, it could even be the actual game engine... There are tons of videos on YouTube dedicated to this issue, I suggest you start there.

Your CPU isn't good enough. The X2 5000 is old and not as good as a lot of other dual cores are, especially Intel ones

If you look at the Black Ops specs, you do not even meet the minimum CPU requirements for it

EDIT: Read the Black Ops system requirements again please. Maybe he 'maxes it out' on a very low resolution. When a processor fails the minimum system requirements (which yours clearly does) you can expect some issues. And if your RAM is only 2-3 GB, that could be another problem if you are running Win 7 x64
