PC is better in every conceivable way. It has a better control system with more precision and more keys/buttons (controllers/joysticks/steering wheels etc can be used too), more games that are cheaper and most, if not all games are moddable in some way. It's cheaper in the long run (much cheaper) and possibly cheaper at first when comparing to the current price of a next gen console depending on if you buy a low, mid or high spec system. PC is a lot less restrictive than console and can be used for so much more than gaming and simple apps. And of course the graphics are always going to be better on a "next-gen" PC than on an 8th gen console.
A while ago a made a document comparing the running costs of an Xbox 360, a PS4 and a mid spec gaming PC all with peripherals and everything required for use. It's completely hypothetical and was made a while ago (some prices were estimates or may have changed), I also forgot how I worked out the total cost for DLC so take it with a pinch of salt. I made it using estimated amounts/costs of games/DLC/peripherals and the total can vary depending how seriously you take your gaming. Because Yahoo doesn't have any features similar to those you find on Forums I'm just going to copy/paste it in instead of using a spoiler to hide its size, here goes... It's in £ because I'm from the UK.

Conclusion- PC is actually a lot cheaper than console and has a very flexible budget. The more games you buy the cheaper PC gets and 40 games over 4 years is very modest.
