Need help with a PC gaming upgrade.?

Well here is my problem, before I go blow money I'd like to know what to upgrade.. I don't have a lot of cash but enough to upgrade one item that would increase FPS and game play.
Currently I play two PC game's World of Warcraft and DC Universe Online
with Warcraft I can run the game fine on low settings but on medium I can run it. but it will lag here and there some places more depending on the area. On medium settings I get only like 20 FPS on low I get about 40-50 - Now with DC Universe Online I can't run the game medium settings at all it lags like hell and on low it still lags sort of bad but its playable I guess.. I want to know one thing I can upgrade that will help me out big time or sorta big time? here are my specs:

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz
RAM: 3.0 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 32-bit
Video Card: : GeForce 8400 GS
Disk Space: 55.2 GB

Any recommendations would be helpful - Thank you in advanced.

I would say upgrade to windows 7 home premium 64 bit or better or stick with vista and upgrade to a 64 bit os

And also upgrade video card to a amd radeon hd 6950 but the video card is about $270

As customary you could run the homestead windows 7 replace adiser to confirm your computing gadget is nicely suited. to flow from XP to 7 is a custom installation and reformat so backup pesonal records. a minimum of an 8400GS pictures card, 4 Gb of memory, and you will be ok. flow to gigabyte and get all your drivers, for chipset, sound card, ethernet and wifi drivers and so on. you will possibly no longer choose them yet to have them available is a plus?
